Additional Information for Potential Speakers

Before submitting a proposal, please review the information below.


 

The Annual Conference provides multiple breakout session options to attendees, including traditional PowerPoint presentations and facilitated hot topic discussions. Sessions are:

  • usually 45 minutes in length and typically led by one individual
  • designed to be strictly educational in nature (not focused or based on a particular provider or solution)
 

Have you heard a terrific speaker that might be suitable for the Institute of Commercial Payments' audience of Commercial Card and Payment professionals? We welcome your nominations for Annual Conference, webinar, regional/virtual forums and workshop speakers.

  • Travel and related expenses are the speaker's responsibility
  •  If you are selected as a speaker, the conference registration fee will be waived. Travel and related expenses are your responsibility.
  • You must be available to deliver your presentation during breakout session periods on all days of the conference
  • If your session is selected, Institute of Commercial Payments will include your photo in the conference app. You will receive information about how to submit a photo
  • The presentation cannot include sales pitches, pricing information, revenue-share statistics or negative comments about other organizations and/or products/solutions, whether verbally or written
  • Presentation content must not violate copyright and/or trademark laws; for example, do not include graphics (e.g., cartoons, celebrity photos, other companies' logos) or content created by others without appropriate permission from the creator or author. You assume all responsibility for any copyrighted and/or trademarked content within the presentation
  • Use the provided presentation template to ensure compatibility with the equipment
  • Grant a non-exclusive copyright license to Institute of Commercial Payments to distribute the presentation PDF (or a substitute document in lieu of the presentation) to event registrants/attendees
  • Institute of Commercial Payments reserves the right to change the conference to a virtual setting should the need arise. If the conference is not held in-person for any reason, we will transfer your registration to the virtual event if you agree to record your presentation for use at the virtual conference
  • The speaker's PowerPoint presentation will be pre-loaded on a laptop provided at the conference. No changes allowed within 48 hours of the conference.

 
 

Proposals will be reviewed by staff and, possibly, other qualified industry professionals, using specific criteria, such as:

  • relevance to the Commercial Card and Payment industry
  • overall perceived quality, originality and timeliness of proposal content
  • a well-defined focus and takeaway value for the audiences
  • completeness of presentation proposal

Prospective speakers will be contacted to schedule a telephone interview. You will receive specifications and requirements following your interview if your proposal is accepted.

If accepted, your presentation description must be submitted in the specified time frame determined during your interview. If you fail to submit the description presentation in the specified time, your presentation may be removed from the agenda.

The Institute of Commercial Payments Annual Conference is an educational, end-user-focused event. Speaking proposals are approved based on merit in this priority order:

  • End-user-led breakout sessions make up the majority of the Annual Conference agenda; therefore, end-user submissions receive top consideration. Providers, we encourage you to spread the word about Annual Conference speaking opportunity to clients who have strong information to present
  • Partner Sponsor organizations at the Silver and above level receive a 45-minute educational breakout session as part of their sponsorship package. Learn more and contact Rachel Narveson at rachel.narveson@iocpnow.com
  • Institute of Commercial Payments will consider speaking proposals from consultants, researchers and other non-partner providers. The proposal should include timely, unique content, including compelling research or topics targeting advanced users.
