View Fill-in-the-Blank ResponsesQuestion:What has been your greatest professional accomplishment in the past 18 months?March 29, 2020 was the day we came home for 4 to 6 weeks - that was 4 years ago. Working from home is great and very convenient, but there is always a challenge of working a schedule and not knowing when to stop for the day. Card programs can be 24/7 if you let them be. A challenge is always time management. Set schedules and goals and stay on track.
My greatest accomplishment this year has been establishing a procedure and forms for our Procurement Card Program.
Growing our Card Program and spend have been a huge accomplishment. Our company has acquired many companies and onboarding has been a focus for the past year.
Managing major programs and bringing rebates to the County. The major programs are P-Card, Office Supply Transition, Home Depot and Amazon Business Prime.
While managing a 1200+ database of virtual card suppliers, I led a virtual card campaign with JPMorgan which resulted in 188 new suppliers being added to the fold with a total additional spend of $69K+. My role as Card Administrator brings in revenue of over $2.5M annually.
Presenting at the IOCP conference in April.
Our organization changed over to a new ERP system, which involved creating and implementing new procedures, providing new training and troubleshooting the new business processes.
Working towards my Accounting degree and getting my CPCP and CPPB.
Assisting with RFP process for new card provider. Creating policies & procedures for new card program.
Obtaining my CPCP.
Adoption of the new OneCard system. Wells Fargo switched from Commercial Card Expense Reporting (CCER) to WellsOne Expense Manager (WOEM). Wells Fargo readily admits the system is designed for the bank's ease of use and not the end user.
Creating workflow to minimize confusion on various processes with the Jira ticketing system.
Successfully managing our approval compliance to less than .5% transactions being out of compliance monthly.
It has been busy stepping into this role but productive ! Accomplishments include: created new, engaging training materials and a compliance matrix, streamlined the application & statement submission process, enforced statement compliance, enhanced reporting and partnered with purchasing for best practices!
retirement from 25 years of service
Successfully completing an RFP and contract award to combine banks and credit card programs
CTSBO certification through the Texas Association of School Business Officials; celebrated 20 year anniversary managing p-cards
Policy Updates
Working with multiple technology platforms and their integration to continue making cards, both virtual and plastic, a viable and strategic procurement and payment component.
Implementing 6 international country specific card programs simultaneously as part of a global expansion effort. Also, leveraging RPA to automate card closures for terminated employees.
Transitioning our program to a new ERP system.
Creating and implementing P-Card refresher training and policy.
We recently went from paper-based forms for applications and all updates into Concur based Requests which route for approval correctly, force folks to enter information fully and more accurately, and are easier to track for productivity. This has been a time saver, and saw a 80% adoption rate prior to it being mandatory, which is very high for our University (CU).
I would also add learning PowerBI to have informed insights on our program, departments, cards, limits, spend, unused credit, un-submitted and unresolved reports. That's been a game changer for understanding our program more thoroughly. Led my department and the programs we manage through some major company changes and restructure.
Completing a bank implementation successfully as part of a merger with another company.
Implementation of a Fuel Card Program for the City.
My greatest professional accomplishment was to grow the program.
Expansion and optimization of p-card program. Less reliance on POs, and significant increase in rebate amount.
Implementing a new purchase card policy to replace one that was 15 years old. Getting buy in from upper management and department heads to have a 99% signature rate on the new policy (only one hold out).
Helping our clients transition card programs to M&T to get them a better platform and better service which generated over $1MM in revenue to the bank and solved lots of cash flow and efficiency issues for our clients.
