ePayables affords companies the opportunity to further replace checks with card payments, and enable large dollar payments on cards. While these goals are desirable to most companies, bank promises of fully automated card payments leveraging an account payable file, have often led to more reconciliation than with check payments. Some ePayables systems are wrought with pitfalls while others offer technology to deliver fully electronic card payments. It is important to understand the difference before developing an ePayables program or to extricate yourself from the reconciliation you may be currently plagued with.

About the Speakers

William Kniering, Commercial Card Unit Manager, MUFG Union Bank, N.A.
Bill leads the Commercial Card client management team for MUFG Union Bank. With almost 30 years of experience in the Commercial Card industry, he has held positions in operations, implementation, technology, account management and sales. While at Bank of America, he worked in London to help launch the bank's global card program. At Paymentech, he worked on the team to design and deploy the first internet-based Commercial Card reporting solution in 1997. Bill has a BA from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Robin Anderson, Client Implementation Specialist, MUFG Union Bank, N.A.
Robin Anderson has always been at the forefront of card program development and ePayables are no exception. Robin started as a practitioner in Accounts Payable where she developed one of the original travel and purchasing programs for a Fortune 500 company with over 5,000 Travel Cards and 1,400 Purchasing Cards. While at American Express, Robin was one of the first to launch American Express' Buyer Initiated Payment program. With over 20 years of experience in running a card program and implementing programs for JPMorgan Chase and American Express clients, her depth of knowledge is invaluable to companies developing BIP programs. Robin has a BBA and MBA from Averett University.
