View Fill-in-the-Blank ResponsesQuestion:What are you most concerned about regarding fraud within your program?Even with our best efforts we still see a lot of fraud
Not having the staff and resources available to perform compliance audits.
Internal misuse of a card.
increase in online fraud which Chip & PIN Cards do not offer increased security against
Even with having great protocols in place, wanting to know more current protocols and keeping on top of this area.
One aspect of concern in regards to our program is approvals being completed without as much care and attention to detail as would be ideal. This is not widespread across our division, and attempts are being made to mitigate the issue.
Not being able to identify it.
Personal or unauthorized use of the cards.
The number of fraudulent transactions we can easily be exposed to. Even with very good controls, we have no control over the supplier's database and fraudsters obtaining cardholders' information.
Outside forces causing fraud, not internal fraud by cardholders
My supplier and the distribution of cards. The sequential order is just that "sequential order". It is far too easy for fraudsters to guess the next card number(s).
My concerns are minimal. We have a team that reviews all card transactions daily. We meet on a monthly basis to discuss the findings and resolutions. Our card provider has an outstanding fraud monitoring system.
Outside sources getting some of our p card numbers and making fraudulent purchases. Recently 3 card numbers (out of a department with 118 cards) had fraud reported at the same time. All fraud transactions were Amazon gift card purchases.
card data breach
User/card holder fraud
Cardholders need to be more accountable and proactive, ie contacting bank/administrator when card is lost; reporting questionable purchases instead of reconciling them, personal purchases under threshold amount
Lack of knowledge of the downstream people obtaining banking information and the lack of care they have for banking information. People protecting their card as they would if it was their own, they don't want to take responsibility for it because it isn't their money.
Frequency and training to users of how to deal with fraud when it occurs on their corporate card.
Outside fraud is the most troublesome; it has a negative impact on our cardholders and adds more work for me as the program administrator.
Unauthorized charges.
Theft of account cards. Protecting our program and Univeristy funds.
The expense on the company is my biggest concern.
Personal spend. With supply issues we're forced to purchase from suppliers like Amazon and it's difficult to determine if spend is personal.
We do 100% percent review in our program and have a lot of oversight at different levels, so the chances are small that there will be a lot of fraud inside the program. Our biggest threat comes from hackers and thieves outside of our organization.
Hacking your card while you're on a trip that can affected you daily transactions.
Sometimes fraud is caught right away other times it takes a while.
Fake vendor invoices
Cardholders misusing their cards for personal use and not reporting it correctly or paying it back timely.
My biggest concern is not catching it in time. We have been very lucky in that most, if not all, fraud is caught by the card issuer.
New hires
cardholders/approvers not paying attention
Employees not being able to provide information to get the claim resolved.
Fraudsters gaining access to personal information from staff.
Improper use of the card how to combat it since it is discovered 'after the fact' we will discover it after the purchase has been made
Personal purchases not for an authorized government purpose.
