A WEX and Visa study conducted in October 2024 with 600 senior payments leaders from travel intermediaries in the UK, Germany and France found that 9 in 10 already use Virtual Cards, citing security as the top benefit. But 53% said supplier acceptance, especially among airlines, remains a major barrier. With 92% of respondents planning to upgrade payment systems within 18 months, the research underscores how European travel intermediaries are navigating innovation pressures.
