Card fraud losses across Europe have climbed to €1.58 billion in 2024, with Card-Not-Present (CNP) fraud making up the majority and rising sharply in countries like the UK, Hungary and Denmark, according to FICO’s latest European Fraud Map. In the UK, CNP fraud now accounts for 70% of all card fraud losses, growing 11% year over year. While some countries like Portugal and the Netherlands saw declines, most are facing mounting risks from eCommerce, eWallet and QR code scams—signaling a shift toward more sophisticated remote fraud tactics.
