The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has filed a lawsuit against Uber, alleging the company enrolled users in its Uber One subscription without consent, misrepresented savings and made cancellation unnecessarily difficult. Some users reportedly had to click through up to 32 screens to cancel, while others were charged before free trials ended. The complaint cites violations of the FTC Act and the Restore Online Shoppers’ Confidence Act.
