U.S. employers announced 172,017 job cuts in February, marking the highest monthly total since July 2020, according to Challenger, Gray & Christmas. This represents a 245% increase from January and a 103% rise from the same month last year. Government agencies led all sectors in layoffs, with 62,242 cuts, followed by retail and technology.
