The goal should be to have a broad knowledge of each of the type programs and not splintered off into different credentials. This would be very hard for many individuals to justify the additional credentialing to their organization.
This is a great opportunity for a Travel Card credential and I personally would really like to purse one. If NAPCP takes this on will definitely get it from here instead of GBTA!
You would need to change the name of the credential if you incorporated PCard and Travel Card
I think it is a great idea!
The current CPCP exam should cover a wide general knowledge range of items that apply to both PCard, One Card and Travel card programs. The intent of the exam should be to insure CPCPs have a GENERAL broad understanding of ALL payment card programs, not necessarily a focusing on a specific type.
I like the idea of both a separate credential and one that could be added to the CPCP. Not all travel card managers would also be P-card managers, and vice-versa, so if it is offered as an addition to the CPCP, I think there should be a choice in certifying in one or both, so a test with additional questions on travel management if you wanted to cert in both.
This is a great idea!
I would find no extra value in a travel credential as the CPCP credential covers all of the issues relevant to managing any type of program.
The extra cost would be a hindrance to many organizations who use cards for both general purchases and travel. |
