China has added 26 financial institutions to its cross-border digital yuan (e-CNY) payment platform, expanding direct participation in its international settlement network. The initiative aims to improve payment efficiency, support cross-border trade and promote wider use of the yuan in global transactions. The move is part of China's broader effort to build alternatives to traditional international payment systems and strengthen the yuan's role in global commerce.
